What will happen when we release too much CO2 into the atmosphere?
You shouldn't worry about people putting too much CO2 into the air, about 99% of all CO2 is produced by nature and is not man-made.CO2 (carbon dioxide) is an essential compound to support the life cycle of Earth. CO2 is absorbed by plant life in the process of photosynthesis which allows them to grow and in return give off oxygen so humans and animal life can breath. Increased CO2 from its current levels will also increase the growth rate of plants, meaning there is more food for a hungry world. CO2 is not a pollutant. It’s insane to call an essential life compound a pollutant, that’s just common sense. Nor is CO2 toxic. We breath CO2 with every breath and it hasn’t killed anybody yet.But of course we need oxygen to live. So if you were in a room with nothing but CO2, you would die. But its not the CO2 that killed you — but the lack of oxygen. Just like if you drown, the water wasn't toxic, it was the lack of oxygen that killed you.CO2 is a blessing and not a curse and if anything, our atmosphere is currently CO2 deficient.
